On 15-16 March, Niigata's major winter event, Niigata Tanrei Niigata Sake no Jin 2014, was held in Niigata. The event, which began in 2004, is extremely popular, attracting more than 100,000 visitors over the two days in 2012.
This year's sake campaign was another great success. I went out for the first time on the first day.
Buy an advance ticket for 2, 000 yen and drink as much sake as you like from about 90 sake breweries with tastings! What's more, each brewery offered a variety of different types of sake, from daiginjo and junmai sake to nigori (nigori) and ume (plum) sake, so you could drink more than 500 different types of sake as much as you wanted! It was an irresistible event, even if you are not a sake lover.
One such item that has become a bit of a speciality at the sake camps is the 'Interesting Sign Poster'.
Posters in several parts of the venue were a bit quizzical about alcohol. Many people couldn't help but take photos of them. Please take a look at the photos we took of these funny posters!

This year, 61, 604 people attended on Saturday 15 March and 38, 221 on 16 March. Total: 99, 825 people gathered. The Sake-no-jin surprised us with the sight of customers getting to know each other, with those who felt better after drinking starting to drink with each other on the spot and sharing snacks. Let's enjoy the Sake-no-jin again next year in Niigata, the sacred land of sake!
