Ramen is the best thing to eat on a cold day! That's why this is the first visit to Ramen Fuuhaku in Bandai, Chuo-ku, Niigata City.
I ordered the Tonkotsu Shio (650 yen) and the Fuhaku Meshi (medium) (150 yen).
The slippery egg noodles go well with the yuzu-flavoured soup. The noodles are said to be kneaded with persimmon tannin.
Two pieces of chashu pork cut quite thick. They are seared before being placed on top. This gives it a voluminous feel.
Fuhaku-meshi is cooked rice with a hint of ginger. Good when put in the mouth together with soup! You may just want to sandwich this in the middle of eating ramen.
The quantity is neither too much nor too little. I drank all the soup without thinking. The soup has a light and refreshing taste with no back oil, so it is also very friendly to women. (In fact, there were quite a few female customers. They also offer a service where you can get a paper napkin.)
Phew, thank you for the food. Now, the bill... "Thank you very much! You can have an ice cream of your choice if you like! Thank you very much. Thank you very much. ・・・・ ・・・・ ooooh (bloat) It's the season like this, but it's the best service in the summer!

The restaurant has about 10 counter seats and a reasonable amount of table seating prepared. Why not drop in when you visit Bandai?
