The rice planting season has come to an end. The unstable weather is beginning to settle down and the warm days are continuing. Personally, I like this time of year best, as it is between spring and summer, when you can take off your jacket and spend the day with just a shirt on. It is also the time of year when the beauty of Tainai City's satoyama stands out even more.
I was invited to join my colleagues at work who were having a picnic in these beautiful Tainai Satoyama.
Tried 'fashionable picnics', or 'fashionable picnics' for short!
We decided to enjoy the beautiful scenery as much as we could! We decided to have a picnic on the theme of 'fashionable picnics', or 'fashionable picnics' for short, with an eye to the recent trend of 'Insta-ei'! The photos are from our actual picnic. The Royal Tainai Park Hotel was chosen as the fashionable venue.
To have a stylish picnic, the first thing to do is to choose the right place. We chose the vast lawn of the Royal Tainai Park Hotel, a landmark of the Tainai Resort. We spread out our leisure seats under a large standing tree, and the sun poured in through the trees pleasantly.
There are many standing trees in the square, similar to those in the picture, so you can also find your own favourite location. The castle-like hotel, combined with the vast lawn, makes you feel like you are in Europe.
They also enjoy sweets and other treats bought from the hotel shop!
The best thing about this place is that you can get bread, wine and sweets from the hotel shop in front of you. The hotel is designed to look like a European castle, so there is plenty to do for a chatty picnic (^^♪).
I had my doubts, but I bought some of the hotel's original items, such as pound cake made from rice flour. The installations are also very good!

What I realised when I did the Oshapiku this time was that the Tainai Resort area is a treasure trove of beautiful scenery. I had always thought that the area had beautiful scenery, but when I spread out my leisure sheet and laid out the fashionable sundries, I had the illusion that I was in a different country.
Right. The satoyama in Tainai was a great area for picnics. So, in addition to the hotels, I would like to introduce some other Tainai picnic spots that I recommend!
(i) Tainai-daira.
The point is also famous as a stargazing spot. The area is surrounded by green hills, the symbol of Tainai, with few buildings. There are plenty of shady spots, so even on a sunny day it's fine.
(ii) Natsui River Park.
Park developed on the Tainai River coast. The park has the same vast greenery as Tainai-daira, but the special feature of Tainai-daira is the view of the remaining snow of the Iide Federation. On the day of our visit, it was sunny enough to wear short sleeves, but the snow-capped mountains could be seen in the distance. The view is so alpine that you can't help but hum "Yororellehee♪".
(iii) Tarugabashi Amusement Park.
Recommended for families with children. In addition to exhibiting 170 animals of about 20 species, including alpacas, Ezo sika deer and ponies, this is a rare facility in the prefecture where children can enjoy large playground equipment and go-carts.
It is a popular spot frequently visited by local Tainai residents. Many people enjoy picnics on the grass square in the centre of the facility.
Picnic recommendations.
A picnic with family and friends eating a delicious lunch in the warm sunshine, pleasant breeze and beautiful scenery naturally encourages chatting. It was also fun to bring lunch boxes and favourite tableware together and prepare them in a lively manner, while also being conscious of the Instagram image!
