I had a hearty bowl of sauce pork cutlet rice at Yoshitomi in Konan-ku, Niigata City. I found out about this restaurant from an acquaintance who told me that there was a terrible restaurant in Kameda, and I was surprised to find that all of the dishes were 500 yen for such a large volume!
Here's a bowl of filleted pork cutlets with sauce, 500 yen!
Here's a bowl of roast pork cutlets with sauce! Of course, 500 yen!
It's fried to a crisp... Bon appétit! And of course delicious!
And here is the menu. Other dishes such as 'Chicken Karaage Donburi', 'Shrimp Fried Donburi' and 'Curry Rice' are all available for a single coin.
The POP displayed in the restaurant was also littered with lovely Niigata dialect in places. On this day, I visited the restaurant with a friend from Osaka, and we not only got to eat Niigata's speciality, tare katsudon, but also got to experience Niigata dialect, which was like killing two birds with one stone! I grinned. Thanks to the warm consideration of the owner.
This is what you see at the entrance to the shop. It makes you feel fluffy.
This is the exterior of the shop. The signboard, which was actually hand-painted by a friend of the owner's, also has a big impact! The owner is also a very lovely person, and while we were eating our food, he spoke to us again and again with a big smile on his face, telling us to "tell him anytime you want another plate" and "eat a lot of food at our place and do your best again tomorrow". This is human kindness! We hope you will all drop by to meet the lovely husband!
